WARCRC Workbench Wednesday

4/30/2026

Another WARCRC Workbench Wednesday!... our favorite mid-week excuse to show off the rad projects the club members are working on. Every Wednesday, our club members clear off the clutter (or just push it slightly to the left) to share exactly what they’re tinkering with.

Pre Reregistration for the 2026 WARCRC Scale Comp # 1

    4/29/2026

Pre Reregistration for the 2026 WARCRC Scale Comp # 1 on June 13th. We are running SORRCA C1, C2, C3(2017 Rules). All trucks will be pre teched prior to the event. Note we are running only 25 drivers and the 19 drivers that ran last year get first dibs until May 2nd... after that it will be open to anyone else that wants to sign up on May 9th to fill up the list to 25. We are going to be doing a Concours aka Truck Show prior to the event like normal, get those scale details dialed in! Why only 25 drivers? Too many people at a location really effects the general public also enjoying the area & parking and a small group ensures us Event crew also get to enjoy the event to the max.

*Scale licensed tires required for the event.

Either go to our WARCRC Facebook group or email us at warcrc.club@gmail.com to register.

After you're registration is confirmed, on June 1st we will be requested photos of each truck you are running to figure out your 2017 SORRCA Scale Points. Note, we tech trucks on the "spirit of the rules", which means if you're wanting scale points of grey area points, like non realistic drivers that are skeletons or want scale points for the air in your tires or interior make out of paper or non realistic materials... don't be shocked you will not get scale points for grey area scale items I would highly suggest to focus on standard scale point items and keep it fun! If you're going to try to have big long discussions of scale points and what is what, I don't think this series is for you. The WARCRC Scale series rewards "Scale Builds" and our focus is having a good time running courses with old friends! View the links below on series "Rules and Specs".

A look back to the first WARCRC Scale Event

      4/28/26

Here is a picture of one of the first WARCRC Scale Comps back in 2008. Back then WARCRC followed the “Montana Scale Design” rules and there was only a 1.9 and 2.2 tire class. It might be funny now but the old “MSD” rules allowed for one free reverse after every gate and scale points for trailers. The new SORRCA where more or less based of the MSD rules and three classes now exist in the scale scene (C1/C2/C3). Back then you would see a few folks driving with a stick radio, lots of trucks with Tamiya TLT axles and there seemed to be abundance of Proline FJ40 bodies. One of the main key roles running the show back then was Glenn aka Ggooler(WARCRC forum username), big thanks to him for helping to start these awesome Scale RC Crawler events with courses in Washington State….you rock Glenn!

Licensed Scale Tires Now Required for the Scale Series

      Event Date: 4/24/26

2026 WARCRC Scale Series Rule Update:
With WARCRC scale events starting spool up for the year, we have an announcement. The only modification we have with the 2017 SORRCA rules we follow is now you will need to run "Licensed" scale tires. This is the only modification to the 2017 rules that we have. With so many licensed tires options now we thought this was good timing. Our focus for the WARCRC Scale Series is to push builders to build some awesome detailed trucks. Prior to every Scale event we host a Concours aka truck show, where we showcase some great builders from the club. For full WARCRC Scale Series info, check out our website!

      WARCRC Covington U4RC Track History

      4/15/2026

A look back to Nov 9th 2014 when the first track WARCRC work party happened at the Covington U4RC track. We raced on grass with some logs for a while and it didn't matter one bit to the drivers, everyone was so thankful to have a track to have fun at. Big thanks to Devlin, Chris, Wayne, Matt, Rich, Jordy and Scott that helped out that day! A lot of others made the series so much fun, another shout out to Rich B. and Denis L., you put in so much effort in through out the years, thanks again guys! We never profited from events and never took in money for the club, that was never our goal. It was all donated time and effort to have a super fun "grass root" series. Thank again, and we look forward to possibly racing with old friends in the future. No events schedule right now but maybe in the far future. Shout out to Joe and crew at RCH for making the track what it is now. Everyone in the area should be so thankful! Thanks again Joe! Just a reminder on the "WARCRC U4RC Series Update: The first WARCRC race was at Lake Keechelus (10/12/14) and the last WARCRC race was March 23 2024. We might host a few in 2027, but we shall see, no plans just yet.

New Truck Graphic for the WARCRC Crawler Series

        4/17/26

New graphic for the WARCRC Comp Crawler series. Keep an eye out for stickers, t-shirts and maybe hoodies too! Note that the truck features the blue and grey colors for a throw back to the WARCRC Forum colors. The truck is built by William G.(ORCRC), and features AX10/SCX10.1 axles with a XR10 width setup. With being a club that has been around since 2005, we thought the OG Axial axles were fitting. Thanks for the photo/truck William!

        Remembering member Jordy F.

        Dec 7, 1984 – Apr 12,2023

RIP Jordy Ferreira. There is a lot to be said about people you meet in hobbies you enjoy and a few of those people are so incredibly giving, friendly, thoughtful, and passionate about seeing others enjoy a hobby and have a thing in their life to bring them joy, Jordy was that times a million. The WARCRC U4RC series in 2014 and the club was looking for a track after racing at Lake Keechelus a few times, Jordy was a huge part of helping WARCRC out to make the RCH track to what it is today. From communicating with Joe at RCH keeping the club informed with the city troubles we first had when starting the track, he was truley the nicest guy and so kind all the time. We were so lucky to be able to race with him. Such a class act, always winning in a clean manner and respectful. He was really one of the top drivers when he could race on the Saturday, he took a lot of pride in working at RCH on the weekends because he helped so many people with soldering, fixing RC and a big resource for local RC people. No matter who you were he would assess the RC and fix it for them, not judging people for lack of skills or knowledge but really wanted them to enjoy their hobby too. RCH is going to feel so empty without him at the shop and he will be missed by so many. Thank you for all that you did for WARCRC and other clubs in the area, we will always reflect on how lucky we were to know him and spend time with him. Thank you for being a good friend and we truly send our condolences to your friends and family. We will miss you bud!

Welcome to the WARCRC Bulletin Board!

          4/7/26

          What is a Bulletin Board?

The Webster dictionary defines it as "platform designed for posting public notices, announcements, messages, write ups, and articles."

What can you expect from the WARCRC Bulletin Board?

You can use this Bulletin Board to keep up to date on WARCRC club info and events. We will also be posting non bias opinion articles written by members on the RC Crawler section of the RC hobby and just some stuff we find cool. We don't do sponsors or have any affiliation with anyone RC companies. Being a club that has been around for 21 years, we have lots of stories to share and members to highlight. Stay tuned in for more info and check back weekly basis.
